Return from AZ
This week we ended our 10-week stay in AZ to return to MN just in time for the snow to melt. I learned tons during my Child Abuse & Neglect rotation that I will be able to use in my future career in Emergency Medicine. Marin is excited to get back into the office once this week, and I’ll be starting a rotation in Sports Medicine!
Odin has crushed our road trips and has been such a joy to have on the road with us. Because he always sleeps in a pack-n-play, it isn’t any more difficult to get him to sleep in a hotel room, or honestly, anywhere else for that matter.
Favorites of the week:
Quote: Enthusiasm is common. Endurance is rare.
To be honest, I’m not sure where I heard this quote this week, but I really enjoyed the message. It is so easy to get excited about something, but it is consistent work over time that actually makes a difference. Enthusiasm can surely get you started, but endurance is what will help you accomplish what you set out to.
🤓 Thing I Learned: Anticipation is everything. Being proactive in life will make everything so much easier. We have been very intentional about this with Odin lately. Rather than waiting for him to start fussing because he is hungry or tired, we anticipate his needs and get him fed or put down for a nap before it becomes a big deal. Everyone ends up being much less stressed.
📚 What We Are Reading: Marin is cruising through the Court of Thorns & Roses series. She didn’t think that she would like this genre, but she has been pleasantly surprised.
I am listening to Tim Kennedy’s Scars and Stripes which has been a crazy recollection of his life as a green beret, MMA fighter, and father.
As my rotations have been a little lighter, I've been doing a lot of research into finance and different business principles. I finished listening to Codie Sanchez’s Main Street Millionaire, and I just started reading Josh Kaufman’s Personal MBA.
