Back in MN

I started my rotation in sports medicine this week. I am spending this entire rotation in an orthopedic sports clinic and seeing all sorts of musculoskeletal conditions. It has definitely re-ignited my passion for anatomy. I have been able to practice my ultrasound skills and see and perform a bunch of different injections. It’s been fun flexing both the diagnostic and procedural sides of medicine again.

Odin had a few doctors appointments this week. They were all general check-ups and follow-ups from being a baby in the NICU. He is doing fantastic, reaching all of his milestones, and took his 2 shots like a champ. He has been starting to teeth (is there a different way to spell that word?), so this weekend has been a bit of a struggle for him, but he has continued loving life and being his smiley self!

Favorites of the week:

🤓 Thing I Learned: There is so much more to patient interactions than a diagnosis and a fix. I spent a lot of time building rapport with patients this week and it was very refreshing.

📚 What We Are Reading: Marin is cruising through the Court of Thorns & Roses series. She didn’t think that she would like this genre, but she has been pleasantly surprised.
I am listening to Tim Kennedy’s Scars and Stripes which has been a crazy recollection of his life as a green beret, MMA fighter, and father.

As my rotations have been a little lighter, I've been doing a lot of research into finance and different business principles. I finished listening to Codie Sanchez’s Main Street Millionaire, and I just started reading Josh Kaufman’s Personal MBA.
